A picture of the old Grove Hydro

About

Explore Ilkley’s health resort heritage on foot with this guided walk led by Ilkley Civic Society Local History Hub.

Starting from Ilkley Manor House, we shall be stepping back in time to re-imagine the Victorian village. Walking up to the old Green Lane (now The Grove), this walk will take you to see the historic Grove Hydro - renamed in the 1880s as The Spa - that made Ilkley famous as a Victorian health destination. Originally in a rural setting, it is now a busy shopping area. Learn about the architecture, the people, and the stories behind these buildings.

Meet outside the Manor House at 2:00pm.

This is an outdoor walking event. Please wear appropriate footwear and clothing for the weather. The route may include uneven surfaces and hills.
