About

Join Samantha Yates, stained glass artist and conservator, for an exclusive full day workshop creating your own bespoke leaded glass panel.

Samantha is a specialist dedicated to the conservation and repair of historic stained and leaded glass, while also designing and creating new stained glass and leaded lights.
Formally qualified with an MA in Stained Glass Conservation & Heritage Management from the University of York and trained in traditional practical skills, Samantha is a member of ICON, the Institute of Conservation and the Heritage Crafts Association.

This is a practical “hands on” session and will include the basics of cutting glass to a pattern, leading, & soldering. You will use these techniques to create a small traditional panel to take home. All materials and tools will be provided.
Places for this workshop are very limited to just 6 spaces

Please note due to the nature of this workshop good manual dexterity will be needed to manipulate the materials.

Warning: due to the use of lead in the workshop this is not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women.

This workshop will take place in the Heritage Craft Room at Bradford Industrial Museum. The class space has level access. Toilets are either in the main building or in a toilet block between the class space and main building. There is a kitchen next to the class room for getting water and hot drinks, but please bring your own lunch, or alternatively snacks and cold drinks can be purchased from the museum reception.
