Hand carving a lino block with a cutting tool during a printmaking workshop.

About

Join textile artist tutor Wendy Gray’s loyal following with her latest lino cut, printing and stitch workshop. Create your own design based on a photograph, found image or your own imagination. Select your favourite design to turn into a Lino cut then test on paper before printing onto fabric. Creatively embellish your print using a variety of colourful embroidery stitches. The end result will be a gorgeous piece of textile art you can be proud of, to keep or to gift.

When you have sketched or traced design you are happy with, Wendy will show you how to print your design first on paper so you can modify your lino cut to perfection. Then Wendy will help you print it onto fabric.

Wendy will show you some key creative stitches to add colour and personality to your art work. If you have never stitched before, don’t worry – she is a patient, qualified teacher. If you already know some embroidery techniques, you will find slow stitching in good company mindfully relaxing.

The workshop includes everything you need and no previous printing or stitching experience is required. All levels welcome from complete beginners to experience artists looking for a new medium.
