About

Led Zeppelin: II played note for note / cut for cut

Led Zeppelin II, released in October 1969, is the second studio album by Led Zeppelin, produced by Jimmy Page with engineering by Eddie Kramer. Recorded across multiple studios in the UK and North America, the album showcases the band’s heavier, blues-based rock sound and marks their shift toward a more riff-driven style.

Six of the nine tracks were original compositions, while three reinterpreted Chicago blues songs by Willie Dixon and Howlin’ Wolf. The single “Whole Lotta Love” became a global hit, reaching the top ten in many countries.

The album was a commercial breakthrough, hitting number one in both the US and UK, and its cover design earned a Grammy nomination. Certified 12× Platinum in the US, Led Zeppelin II is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential rock albums ever made.
