A photograph of the Bronte Birthplace

About

Join us for our walking tour of historic Thornton, uncovering the rich cultural, industrial and architectural heritage of the Brontë children’s birthplace.

For many years, Thornton has been the forgotten chapter in the Brontë story, but since the grand opening of the Brontë Birthplace, we’re working to shine a light on the fascinating history of the village.

Led by a local historian and Brontë expert, Paul Crossley, and a group of local volunteers, this two-hour tour begins at the Brontë Birthplace and guides you through key sites, including the Brontë Bell Chapel ruins, Kipping House, South Square Centre and the village’s iconic snickets and ginnels.
