BRAVE Presents is a one-day celebration of Black arts and culture, taking place at Bradford Arts Centre during Black History Month.

This is a scaled-down version of BRAVE Festival, bringing together Black artists for an exciting programme of dance, rap, live music, African drumming, spoken word, storytelling, creative activities and live performance. BRAVE Festival runs every other year and the 2 day event will be back in 2027

15.00 - 18:30 Join us during the afternoon for hands-on workshops including Jamaican Dancehall, Gambian Dance, Rap & Rhyme, Vogue Femme, live looping, Nigerian head wrapping and storytelling. You can also drop into the African Drumming and Arts & Craft spaces at any time between 3pm and 6pm. These are flexible drop-in activities, so you can join them whenever it suits you during the afternoon. You will need to book day pass tickets for this part of the event. 

18:30 - 20:30 Stay into the evening for the BRAVE Finale, an open-mic-style showcase of live music, rap and spoken word. You will need to book an evening performance ticket to attend this part of the event. 

BRAVE is proudly Black-led and everyone is welcome. Most workshops are suitable from age 5, although some have a minimum age of 10. Please see the full programme for the age guidance for individual sessions.

BRAVE is a participatory festival for adults and children. Our workshops are not simply children’s activities - we warmly encourage adults, friends and families to get involved, try something new and experience the sessions together.
