Get closer to nature with Bradford on Foot, a series of guided walks exploring the landscapes, wildlife and heritage of the new Bradford Pennine Gateway National Nature Reserve as part of Nature Season. Whether you're taking on the full challenge route or joining a shorter guided walk, you'll discover moorland, wetlands, woodlands and some of the district's most spectacular views.

Challenge Walk: Bradford Pennine Gateway Trail
Saturday 19 September 2026. Take on the full 18-mile Bradford Pennine Gateway Trail, connecting all eight sites that make up the National Nature Reserve.

Ilkley to Shipley Glen Guided Walk
Saturday 19 September 2026, 10.30am to approximately 2.30pm. Starting at Clarke Foley Community Hub, Ilkley (LS29 9DZ) and finishing at Bracken Hall Countryside Centre, Shipley Glen (BD17 5EA), this challenging 7-mile walk takes in Ilkley Moor, Baildon Moor and Shipley Glen. 

Saltaire to Bingley Bog Guided Walk
Saturday 19 September 2026, with start times at 10.30am or 12.30pm. Beginning at Victoria Hall, Saltaire (BD18 3JS) and finishing at Bingley Bog North (BD16 2RD), this moderate 3.5-mile walk explores Trench Meadows and the wetlands of Bingley Bog.

Bingley to Haworth Guided Walk
Saturday 19 September 2026, 10.30am to approximately 2.30pm. Starting at Butter Cross, Bingley (BD16 2LZ) and finishing at West Lane Baptist Church, Haworth (BD22 8EN), this 7.5-mile route passes through woodlands, wetlands, moorland and the iconic Brontë landscape of Penistone Hill.
