“Bit risky though, isn’t it? Just sort of turning up to an isolated peninsula in the North Sea without any sandwiches!”
A heartwarming and gently humorous play about love, loss, and finding joy in the everyday.
Set in a small café on the Yorkshire coast, Angie keeps things running with warmth and quiet resilience, while her kind-hearted employee Lauren dreams of what’s next. Lauren’s father, Dennis, a thoughtful and steady presence, watches over them both with quiet care. When Ed, a wildlife enthusiast with a deep love for nature, arrives to help with a local conservation project, new connections start to form.
Wells’ beautifully observed writing captures the ebb and flow of life, where small gestures mean everything, and laughter is never far away. As the tide rolls in and out, so do memories, hopes, and gentle surprises. Big Big Sky is a moving and uplifting story about the simple, powerful moments that bring people together.
Pull up a chair in the café, settle in, and let this charming tale carry you away.
This play contains birdwatching, line dancing and people eating pasty and beans.
