About

A.A. Dhand, Sunday Times bestselling author and Bradford’s own, returns with The Kingpin, the follow-up to The Chemist.

When Idris Khan’s estranged brother walks out of prison and back into his life, the offer he brings will force Idris to make the hardest choice of his life. Raised in Bradford and trained as a pharmacist, Dhand draws on a world he knows intimately.

Join him to hear about the inspiration behind The Kingpin, the moral complexity at its heart and what it means to write crime fiction rooted in a city he calls home.

A. A. Dhand is the author of five previous novels and has been shortlisted for the CWA Steel Dagger Award. His bestselling DI Harry Virdee novels are now a hit BBC drama. He was raised in Bradford and spent his youth observing the city from behind the counter of a small convenience store. After qualifying as a pharmacist, he worked in London and travelled extensively before returning to Bradford to start his own business and begin writing. The history, diversity and darkness of the city have inspired all his novels.
