Bradford is full of creative and inspiring experiences. Across the district studios and heritage spaces invite you to try something new.

Morning: Start your journey in Ilkley. Wander up to the moors and the iconic Cow and Calf Rocks to take in the incredible views across the valley or cross the river and take an early morning, bracing dip in the Lido to refresh yourself for a full day ahead. Next, visit Mrs Duttons to take part in one of their Wonderous Workshops crafting your own beautiful items or pop into the Art Shop to pick up some supplies ready to sketch out a masterpiece of your very own inspired by everything you'll see on your trip.

Afternoon: Catch the bus to Keighley, then climb onboard the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway to experience a steam-hauled journey through Brontë Country, on this beautifully preserved line. Explore the historic area including Main Street, home to many unique shops. Next pop into to Cobbles and Clay and try your hand at potting, painting or one of the other classes and activities that they regularly host to create your very own piece of art to take home and remember your trip.

Day 2

Morning: Start your second day in Bingley with a morning stroll along the Leeds-Liverpool canal. Relax along the tranquil paths watching ducks and canal boats pass you by and then climb to the top of the Five Rise Locks to take in the impressive view. Next, head off for a pre-booked class at the Craft House where you’ll learn a wonderful new skill, which can range from art to needlepoint to metal work, under the guidance of an experienced tutor and create pieces that will delight friends and family alike.

Afternoon: For your afternoon board the train over to Bradford. Start at Darley Street Market where you can grab a tasty bite to eat before shopping for plenty of supplies for crafting on the go or for when you get home. Next, jump on the bus to visit the Bradford Industrial Museum. Catch the blacksmith hard at work showing off traditional skills in the fierce heat of the forge and see the new Made By Many Hands exhibition which showcases many other processes and products from endangered crafts. Watch them being made and pick some up in the shop as a souvenir.
