UNIfy Festival 2022

About

This year the festival will be celebrating creativity. Throughout, the festival will be shining a light on the ideas and innovation that come from the people, communities, and organisations in Bradford.

The UNIfy Festival will take place from Saturday 26 to Thursday 31 March 2022, launching with a CommUNIty Open Day at the University on Saturday 26 March. The open day will be packed with activities for the whole family, bringing cutting-edge research and projects from the University and the city to life. Ranging from the award-winning Virtual Bradford – where visitors can step inside and explore a digital version of the city centre to an escape room where teams can see if they can solve a crime scene in the fastest time. There will also be an opportunity to discover and share the foods, culture and heritage of Bradford’s sanctuary seekers and a Hedgehog Friendly Campus Trail where visitors will find out how they could help hedgehogs in their local area.

The finale of the open day will be an event asking, ‘How does researching space make Bradford a better place to live?’. The University recently announced its new Bradford Renduchintala Centre for Space, this event will bring together a diverse panel to discuss space; why we need to research it; how the UK, Yorkshire and Bradford are contributing to space research and the difference it makes to people living in Bradford.

Throughout the week the festival will also include an exciting programme of events and activities including a moving performance on ‘Voices from the Front Line: Care homes, dementia and Covid-19’; ‘What is to What If: Imagining Bradford’s future’ and ‘What is the future of Bradford's Healthcare and how will it benefit you?’.
