The Story of Bradford’s New Vic

About

Mark Nicholson, a leading expert into the 70 year history of the building previously known as the New Victoria, The Gaumont, and Bradford Odeon, will offer an insight into its rich past at this lunchtime talk.

As a member of Bradford Odeon Rescue Group (BORG), Mark was at the heart of the action to save the building from demolition. Come and hear the story of how this much-loved building was saved, and find out why the building is called The People’s Palace.

Copies of Mark’s book The People’s Palace The Story of Bradford’s New Vic will be available for a suggested donation of £10+ with all proceeds going to The Cinderella Club, a Bradford based charity that helps children throughout the district.

Feed Your Mind is our ongoing series of informal, insightful lunchtime talks inspired by our exhibition programme. The talk will take place in the gallery where our current exhibition Bringing the Beat Back to Bradford looks back on the history of this much loved building.
