The Ale Marys

About

The Ale Marys is a band built on long-term relationships. Gerry and Ani McNeice - familiar faces on the live sound scene with their award-winning PA team 'Wee Dog Sound' - have spent a lifetime together making music, since they were in their teens. Bass player Nick Downes has worked with Gerry since 1985 and drummer Berni Gilmore has been known to the rest of them since the late 1970s. Even relative 'newbie' Dave Turner has clocked up 10 years!

Following the success of the CD-EP, 'There's Something about Marys', they now have a full length 10 song CD 'The Ale Marys'

Their music has been described as...

'up-beat, jangly folk pop, awash with harmonies and melodies that lift both the spirit and the soul. Reminiscent of The Beatles, The Eagles, The Byrds and early Fairport Convention whilst being entirely unique.'

The Ale Marys consist of...

Gerry McNeice - guitar and vocals
Ani McNeice - guitar and vocals
Berni Gilmore - drums and vocals
Nick Downes - bass and vocals
Dave Turner - accordion, whistle, flute, harmonica, organ and vocals
