About
After the tremendous success of last year’s visit from the National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, we’re delighted to start our season with the Lviv National Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine, led by the leading Ukrainian conductor, Theodore Kuchar. An exciting programme starts with Rossini’s rumbustious Thieving Magpie Overture followed by a rare performance of Sibelius’ atmospheric and elegiac 4th Symphony. The second half gives us a wonderful opportunity to hear Brahm’s masterpiece; his Double Concerto and the finale of the concert will be a selection of Dvořák’s thrilling Slavonic Dances.
