Illumination: An Evening of Poetry, Music and Song

About

There will be, however, a number of surprise guest poets for the evening!

Each poet will have up to 5 mins to read for a maximum of 3 poems or 5 minutes, but may change on the day.

Donations would be welcome for this event.

Doors open at 6.30pm for refreshments, with the event taking place from 7 to 9pm

How do I book my place?
You can book your place using the Eventbrite ticket page.

How do I take part?
If you'd like to take part, please send Mussarat Rahman your name and a few sentences about yourself (a short introductory biography) - with 'Poetry Reader' in the e-mail subject - to mussaratrahman@gmail.com and smacmahon038@gmail.com.

Please do invite your friends and family to come and listen and hear the lovely range of poets reading for the evening. We would recommend wrapping up warm as it's a beautiful space, but may be slightly cold as it's quite an open space.

Poetry Workshop

Ahead of the event, there will also be a Poetry Workshop 12th March 1-3pm, running at Bradford Library. As part of Interional Women's Day, come and explore the power of words and create playful poetry with local poet Nabeela Ahmed. All you need to do is bring yourselves, some paper, some pens and be inspired!

If you are interested in attending, please e-mail mussaratrahman@gmail.com with 'Poetry Workshop' in the subject heading. There are a maximum of 15 places available on a first come, first served basis.

Please send any enquiries about this event to the e-mail address above, or by calling 07873872450

Donations would be welcome for this event.

'Illumination Nights' is a new pilot project, a working partnership between Intercultured Festival and Bradford Cathedral to welcome new audiences in to the wonderfully welcoming space of the Cathedral. This project has been funded by the Night Time Economy Grant from Bradford Council.
