Ilkley Manor House Exhibition: Yorkshire Doors Rag Rug flyer

About

An exhibition of contemporary textiles by West Riding Ruggers

“Doors of Yorkshire” is a set of 15 hooked panels inspired by and depicting doors from around the Yorkshire district including the distinctive Ilkley Manor House door. They have been made using traditional rag-rugging skills and recycled textiles and created by members of the West Riding Ruggers.

The group use prodding and hooking techniques, handed down through generations, to make rugs, wall-hangings, and everyday items, some of which are included along with the doors in the exhibition. Come along to meet members of the group, find out how these beautiful rugs and other items are made, handle some of the works and vote for your favourite door to win a rag-rug starter kit.
