Your favourite garden or landscape could be your inspiration and you are invited to bring an image to inspire you, or use those provided.

After creating a simple pattern (cartoon) you will select your yarns in colours and textures to reflect the colour palette of your garden – like painting with yarn!

The Ashford looms will be threaded ready for you to start weaving giving you plenty of time to experiment with techniques.

You will be shown how to create surface interest through yarn combinations, plain weave effects and tapestry techniques such as Soumak and Rya knots which are perfect to create texture and form.

By the end of the day your piece will be taken off the loom and you will be given guidance on finishing off and options to display your weaving.
