A picture of Pianist Paul Lewis

About

This will be the first UK visit of the Belgian National Orchestra for some years and this time they perform under their dynamic, fabulous new conductor Roberto González-Monjas.

The orchestra is joined by the eminent pianist Paul Lewis, performing Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1, arguably the composer’s most popular piano concerto, owing to its distinctive and very familiar opening horn theme.  Saint Saens’ Third Symphony, also known as the Organ Symphony, is another audience favourite, with the fourth movement having been used in the film Babe, rounding off a wonderful evening of feel-good music not to be missed.
