Asia: An Exhibition

About

Asia is the largest continent in the world. It accounts for 30% of the Earth’s landmass and 60% of the world’s population. It includes 49 different countries. According to the last census, in 2021, one in four people living in Bradford district is Asian.

This gallery displays items from the collection of objects Bradford District Museums look after. It focuses on the four Asian countries we have the most items from: China, Japan, Pakistan and India.

These are things that have either been donated to the museum, or that the museum has applied for funding grants to purchase. They are beautiful and interesting arts and textiles that give us a glimpse into the culture they come from.
