Booktrust Storytime at Manningham Library

Families that visit Bradford Libraries this autumn are helping BookTrust, the UK’s largest children’s reading charity, to vote for the Booktrust Story Time Prize 2021.

Special interactive sessions for families will also take place at libraries across Bradford with the six shortlisted stories taking centre stage.

All libraries in Bradford will receive the six shortlisted books from the Story Time Prize, ready for loan to families so they can choose their favourite and vote before end 10 December 2021.

The BookTrust Storytime experience will offer a raft of resources for librarians alongside activities for families that will bring the magic of reading to life, and to inspire sharing stories and visiting the local library to become a regular and long-lasting part of family life. Watch out for activity books, stickers and collectible characters to enhance the story sharing experience.

The families and librarians taking part in the BookTrust StoryTime pilot will be invited to take part in the vote to crown this year’s winner of the £5,000 prize, announced in January 2022. Previous winners of the £5,000 award include This Is Owl by Libby Walden and Jacqui Lee (2020) and Cyril and Pat by Emily Gravett (2019).
