Luke Lund

5-7 Rawson Place,

A Finnish self-taught producer, graphic designer, label head (Terranean Recs, Birthdeath, Barely Here). For the past 11 years he's been recording multi-genre works revolving around extremes, focusing on timbre and texture via improvisation. He works with a vast repertoire ranging from offbeat club tracks or field recordings to musique concrète or knuckle-dragging rock. Recent years have seen a shift towards sound production with experimental recording and processing methods.

Releases with Regis (British Murder Boys), Aidan Baker (Nadja), Andy Swan (Khost, FINAL), Jack Chuter (ATTN:Mag), Laert Mihaj, Thierry Arnal (Amantra), Submechanical (Jezgro, Cloaks), Half-Lifer (Golden Cabinet) and as the group Have Demons with Submerged.

Lund has released thisquietarmy, Arrington de Dionyso, Forest Management, Altars Altars, Maria Moles (Jaala), Kinlaw, Lighght, How to Disappear Completely, Giant Gutter from Outer Space among others, and currently works in Ohm Resistance (released e.g. Merzbow, JK Flesh, Bill Laswell, forthcoming Scorn, Gore Tech)

Having a fascination towards sounds at a tender age – whether from the mining town he grew up in; its surrounding quiet nature; or film sound design; along with leftfield electronics he found from videogame soundtracks – he started dabbling with abstract audio manipulation soundscapes in '08. Discovering Justin Broadrick sparked a passion for noise, industrial music, dub production values and experimental music. In '10 he began incorporating rhythm in his sound and established netlabel Terranean for releasing the material. Well over a 100 releases in and counting, he launched another label in '15 – Birthdeath – which focuses on releasing unorthodox works adapting traditional rock band instrumentation. This was when Lund unveiled Mind/Body, his songwriting project. In '17, Terranean expanded to Barely Here for physical editions.
