The Museum is bustling during the school holidays and visitors can enjoy a range of activities for all the family. Participate in our drop-in workshops, raid our dressing up box, or get your hands on some history!

WILD WEDNESDAY ‘DROP IN’ WORKSHOPS:
1 August, 11am-4pm ‘Every Leaf Speaks Bliss to Me…’ From a poem by Emily Brontë. Emily loved to be out of doors and would go walking in the hills around Haworth in all weathers. She felt very at home in the landscape around her and knew all the different plants that lived up on the moors. Much of Emily’s work was inspired by nature, and we’re going to get inspired too! Join us for this drop in workshop and create a beautiful, simple leaf brooch to take home with you.

8 August, 11am-4pm Faeries, Boggarts and Beasties!
Working with clay and what we’ll be gathering round and about, you can make fantastic beasts and fabulous faeries just like the ones Emily loved to hear about from Tabby as they sat round the fire listening to her tales of old Yorkshire.

15 August, 11am-4pm Wonderful Weaving
In this lively family workshop using found natural materials, you can weave your own simple but unique art pieces inspired by Emily’s love of the plants, textures and colours of the moorland.

22 August, 11am-4pm ‘Fall, Leaves, Fall…’
We’re inspired by leaves again! Join us to make a beautiful collage using the different shapes and textures of leaves found in the landscape around the Parsonage.

29 August, 11am-4pm Hearts of Clay
Bringing together earthy clay and delicate lace, join us to make some intriguing hand-rafted hearts. You can shape them how you like and then use the lace to imprint beautiful patterns to make your own unique design. These patterned hearts can be air dried when you take them home with you.
