Effective from Wednesday 6 January - National lockdown: Stay at Home
You must not leave, or be outside of your home except where necessary. You may leave the home to:
Shop for basic necessities, for you or a vulnerable person.
Exercise is permitted with one person from outside a household or support bubble. Social distancing must be maintained.
Key Information
- Entertainment venues and visitor attractions are closed, including, theatres, cinemas, museums and galleries.
- Restaurants and other hospitality venues can continue with delivery or takeaway only, but people will not be able to add alcohol to any orders they collect.
- Accommodation such as hotels, B&Bs, campsites, and guest houses must close, unless meeting specific exemptions.
- Overnight stays away from home are not permitted unless it is a person within a support bubble or you have a reasonable excuse. This means that holidays in the UK and abroad are not allowed, including staying in a second home or caravan.

Essential shops remain open during lockdown; Food shops, supermarkets, pharmacies, garden centres, and off-licences are deemed essential retailers. Shop on-line or use local shops and services wherever you can. Travel no further than you need to minimise the risk of spread of Coronavirus.

- Wash hands - keep washing your hands regularly
- Cover face - wear a face covering over your nose and mouth in enclosed spaces
- Make space - stay at least a metre away from people not in your household
