Bradford announced as host city for 2017 Tour de Yorkshire


Bradford has been announced as one of six host towns or cities for the Tour de Yorkshire.  Racing for the third edition will begin in Bradford at City Park.  The third edition of the race takes place between 28-30 April 2017. It encompasses all four corners of the county and takes in Yorkshire’s two UNESCO World Heritage Sites at Fountains Abbey and spectacular Saltaire.

Stage one, Coast and Wolds the race gets going outside Bridlington Spa heading through Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay, finishing at the North Bay of Scarborough.

Stage two, Historic Market Towns will start on Tadcaster Bridge, and follows a relatively flat route through Knaresborough, Masham and Ripon to reach Harrogate.

Stage three, "The Yorkshire Terrier" will start at City Park, Bradford heading to UNESCO Saltaire, Shipley, Burley-in-Wharfedale, Ilkley, Côte de Silsden, Keighley, Côte de Haworth, Denholme, Queensbury.... the route continues towards the Fox Valley, Sheffield #TDY2017 is coming!  The Yorkshire Terrier, has a massive 8 Categorised Climbs and 2 Sprints. This stage has over 3,400m of climbing! The toughest route yet.
