About

Ilkley Manor House is an important, historic Grade I listed building that stands on the remains of a Roman fort. The House, which dates back to c. 1390, is open every weekend and is free to enter.

Not only is it one of the region’s oldest domestic buildings, Ilkley Manor House is also a museum, an art gallery, an exhibition space and a live venue, all run by the Ilkley Manor House Trust.

Visit the heritage display to discover Ilkley’s intriguing past, have a sensory stroll through the replica medieval herb garden, take in some art in the Solar Gallery (a permanent space showcasing new work by various artists), or simply relax in the tranquil setting of the Courtyard.

Whilst visiting, why not pick up a copy of Ilkley Manor House's busy programme of cultural events and activities, which includes pop-up art installations, exhibitions, theatrical performances, musical treats, craft fairs and more.

Ilkley Manor House is a short walk from Ilkley rail and bus stations and from town centre car parks. The ground floor of the building has no steps and is wheelchair accessible, whilst the first floor can only be accessed by stairs. The Ilkley Manor House Trust is working towards making the House fully-accessible for all visitors.
