Details

There’s plenty to keep a whole family entertained this Heritage Open Day weekend.

You can follow a colourful stick trail, make mud pies, build a den and play traditional games on the lawn – do you know how to skip?

How about getting crafty, running through a willow tunnel, spotting bugs and tracing your way to the centre of a grass maze? There are lots of things to do inside the house too including solving a revolting remedy puzzle – do you know what illness buttered frogs were used to cure?

Do you know how butter was traditionally made? How long did it take? How was it stored? Join our volunteer in the Great Barn between 2pm and 3pm on Saturday and Sunday to try your hand at the age old tradition of butter making.

This fun, hands-on activity can be enjoyed by all the family.
