TWO DAYS INSPIRATION

Day One

MORNING:

Arrive in Haworth in style on the KWVR Steam Train from Keighley. The historic railway runs through the beautiful Worth Valley landscape and offers you a rare opportunity to step back in time. From the train station, you can take a short cut through Central Park to reach Haworth Main Street. At the top of the street, you will find The Brontë Parsonage, a remarkable museum that was once home to the renowned Brontë family of writers.

AFTERNOON:

On the way back down Main Street, you will find delightful independent shops that sell unique souvenirs and handcrafted gifts like Hawksbys, Wave of Nostalgia, and Pretty Penny.  If you're in need of a lunch spot, there are plenty of excellent cafes, bistros, and pubs along Haworth Main Street where you can relax, enjoy a meal, and admire the picturesque view of the cobblestone street and the valley. You can even try your hand at writing a poem inspired by the Brontës or read their famous literature in the same setting that influenced them.

EVENING:

Experience the charm of Haworth by enjoying traditional British cuisine at a historic pub on the main street. Haworth Old Hall, one of the oldest pubs in the village, offers authentic ale next to a cosy fireplace during winter. If you prefer a more upscale ambiance, The Hawthorn, a Georgian gastropub, provides a luxurious countryside setting and named the best roast in the country by Rate Good Roasts. Alternatively, Haworth Steam Brewing offers locally produced Yorkshire Gin.  For a unique evening activity, consider taking a ghost tour to explore the haunted side of Haworth.

Day Two

MORNING:

Start your morning by enjoying a lovely cup of coffee at one of the charming cafes in Haworth village, like number 10 the coffee house or Cobbles and Clay. Then, go on an energetic hike across the Brontë moors, which can take about 2-3 hours. The Bronte Connection trail allows you to explore the breathtaking landscapes that inspired the Brontë sisters. The journey begins near St. Michael and All Angels' church and takes you to the Brontë waterfalls, before continuing to Top Withens, which is believed to be the setting of Wuthering Heights.  It is advisable to check the weather forecast in advance, as the terrain can be unpredictable.

Instead of walking the moor, you can also take the B3 Brontë Bus.  Sit back and enjoy the panoramic views of this windswept landscape on one of England's most scenic bus routes.

AFTERNOON:

In the afternoon you can visit Cliffe Castle Museum & Park and have lunch at the Pavillion Cafe.  Advance booking is recommended if you wish to have afternoon tea. The museum offers a great opportunity to discover various collections of rocks and fossils that are part of the local heritage exhibitions.

EVENING:

Go out on the town in Keighley and visit the cinema for a nostalgic experience. The Keighley Picture House, which opened in 1913, is an independent cinema with two screens where you can watch the latest movies.

You can have a great dinner at Shimla Spice, which is known for its award-winning curry and considered one of the best in the district. Alternatively, you can also try Amici Ristorante for excellent Italian cuisine.
