National Media Museum
The National Media Museum is one of Yorkshire's most popular museums offering endless opportunities to learn more about photography, film, radio, television and the web. Don't miss the Experience TV Gallery and TV Heaven where over 900 programmes are free to view. The museum also has a café, shop and the IMAX cinema (various ticket prices apply).

Impressions Gallery and Bradford 1 Gallery
Located in the Centenary Square development these free galleries are a joy to visit and host a changing programme of exhibitions as well as permanent collections. Impressions Gallery is dedicated to photography and has an interesting programme of events including workshops and artists talks.

Bradford Cathedral
Bradford Cathedral is the city's oldest place of worship and has a fascinating history. The Cathedral is a beautiful building and has many interesting features including twelve stained glass windows designed by William Morris. A varied programme of cultural events, performances and exhibitions are also available

 

Cartwright Hall Art Gallery and Museum and Lister Park
Cartwright Hall's latest permanent exhibition is Connect a rich and diverse collection that includes paintings, prints, drawings, textiles, sculpture, stained glass and ceramics and features key works by artists such as David Hockey, L.S Lowry, Joshua Reynolds, Andy Warhol and Bridget Riley.

Cliffe Castle
Cliffe Castle Museum was originally the spectacular mansion of the local Victorian millionaire and textile manufacturer, H I Butterfield. It stands in attractive hillside grounds with greenhouses and garden centre, aviaries and a children's‚ play area.

Salts Mill and Saltaire United Reformed Church
Saltaire is an impressive UNESCO World Heritage Site due to its preservation as a model Victorian village. The village is dominated by Salts Mill, home to one of the largest collections of David Hockney's work as well as shops, cafés and restaurants. Nearby is Saltaire United Reformed Church a grade I listed building and where Titus Salt is buried.

 

Manor House
Situated within the beautiful surroundings of the Wharfe Valley, one of Ilkley's oldest buildings, the Manor House, has been converted into an attractive museum and art gallery. Manor House also has a changing programme of exhibitions and events.

Bradford has a packed events calendar and highlights include the Bradford Mela, the Bradford Classic and the Saltaire Festival.

Discover Bradford's industrial past
Bradford's industrial heritage can be found in the many listed buildings found throughout the city. Bradford played an important role in the industrial revolution and had a thriving textiles industry. Discover Bradford's Victorian past in Little Germany, an area of the city full of the German Wool Merchants imposing mill buildings, which are now all listed. Bradford Industrial Museum is also a great place to understand more about Bradford's history, as is the village of Saltaire.

Set within the Yorkshire Dales, Ilkley is the ideal place to explore Yorkshire's magnificent countryside. Ilkley Moor is a great place to start with its breathtaking views of Ilkley and beyond. There are lots of walks in and around the town and downloadable routes are available.
