Walks with Points of Interest

Bradford district has some fantastic countryside to explore. Below are some self-guided walks which take in some of Bradford district's most interesting scenery.

Saltaire & Airedale

The Leeds Liverpool Canal is one of the longest canal's in England and is an ideal place for a walk or stroll. Look out for Five Rise Locks, a feat of 18th century engineering.

Brontë Country

Romantic and brooding Bronte Country with its moors and valleys has excellent walks for all abilities. Discover the countryside that's thought to have inspired the Brontes work and visit Top Withens thought to have been the inspiration for the classic novel Wuthering Heights.

Ilkley & Wharfedale

The beautiful area of Ilkley and Wharfedale is well know for its excellent walking. Take a walk on Ilkley Moor and admire pre-historic rocks such as the Cow and Calf Rocks and the Cup and Ring Stones.

Middleton Woods and the River Wharfe are also popular places for walking, particularly during May when the bluebells come out in Middleton Wood.
