Haworth and Brontë Country Walks West Yorkshire
Our beautiful countryside offers something for all who enjoy spending their holiday walking, whether it's a short stroll from Haworth to the moors or walking the Brontë Way.
Travel on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway and get off at one of our towns and villages. You'll find lots of walks from Keighley, Oxenhope, Oakworth, Stanbury and Haworth. Take time to explore the network of quiet country roads and paths, windswept moors and peaceful forests which make Brontë Country one of West Yorkshire's most special places to walk.

Haworth Walks
Follow in the footsteps of the Brontës and disover the dramatic landscapes that inspired their work. Walk from the village to Haworth Moor and follow the Brontë Connections Walk. Other Haworth walks include the Penistone Hill Heritage Trail and the Sladen Valley and Lower Reservoir walk which also passes through Stanbury.

Oakworth Walks
Oakworth was the main location for the 1970 film The Railway Children and a self-guided route of the key locations is available from Haworth Visitor Information Centre. Other walks to try include Oakworth to Keighley and a walk along Keighley Moor. For a shorter walk try walking North and West of Oakworth which takes in rolling fields, forest and the Grouse Inn pub.

Oxenhope Walks
An ideal family walk from Oxenhope is around Leeming and the Reservoir. Beautiful countryside and extensive views of Leeming Reservoir can be enjoyed. The Worth Way a 11 mile walk or a 5 ½ linear walk from Oxenhope to Keighley are also interesting walks taking in several Brontë Country locations. There are also several pubs in Oxenhope.

Stanbury Walks
There are lots of walks from Stanbury and the village is also a starting point for the Brontë Connections Walk which includes Top Withens (inspirtation for Wuthering Heights) and the Brontë Waterfalls. Alternatively walk out to Penistone Crag and Stanbury Moor. There are several pubs in the village for lunch including the Old Silent Inn and the Wuthering Heights.
