The Brontë Sisters

The Brontës are one of the world's most remarkable literary families and they lived in the village of Haworth, high up in the Pennines from 1820 to 1861. Here in the Parsonage the sisters penned their romantic novels, including Emily Brontë's Wuthering Heights.
The Parsonage is now the Brontë Parsonage Museum, preserved as it would have been in the Brontë's time, full of their personal possessions and a fascinating exhibition on their lives. The Parsonage also has an excellent programme of events including the Brontë Festival of Women's Writing.
There are many places in Pennine Yorkshire with Brontës connections. Download the Brontë Trail brochure.
