Oakworth
Located on the upper slopes of the Worth Valley Oakworth is in a beautiful location surrounded by fields and woodland. Oakworth thrived in the Industrial revolution and there are many interesting Victorian buildings to be found in the village.
When you get off the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway at Oakworth Station you might think it looks familiar. This is because Oakworth Station and the village of Haworth were some of the main locations used in the famous 1970 film The Railway Children. Visit all the key locations on the Railway Children walk.
There are lots of walks for all abilities that start in the village as well as pubs and cafes for lunch or a pint. Holden Park is also a nice place for a stroll, picnic or a place to chill out with the family. Look out for the grottos, caves and mosaics.
Oakworth and The Railway Children
The 1970 film the Railway Children was filmed on the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway and Oakworth was one of the main locations used in the film. Oakworth Station was seen throughout the film and was the work place of ‘Perks'. The level crossing used in the film is also at Oakworth and Mytholmes Tunnel was the site of the landslide. Oakworth Walk Cycle Ride
Oakworth is the perfect base for those who enjoy the outdoors. There are lots of walks from the village including a circular walk exploring the Worth Valley from Oakworth to Keighley. Why not walk north and west of Oakworth, a 5 mile circular walk starting from the village. There are lots of other routes to try nearby and there are cycle routes and bridleways in Brontë Country too.

Try the Grouse Inn or the Golden Fleece for a drink or pub lunch. Oakworth is also home to the Oakworth Tandoori and Newsholme Manor Restaurant.
